Radiology techs have two main problems with CE credits for ARRT. The first is that they don’t know how to acquire them. This is particularly true for fresh radiology techs who only recently got accredited. The second major issue is keeping track of and managing these credits.

Where to Find CE Credits for ARRT

Radiology techs can acquire CE activities by doing research and writing textbooks too. While there are many methods of getting CE Credits for ARRT, there are things that don’t count.

A CPR course won’t count towards your credits. As a healthcare professional, knowing CPR is part of your job. Doing regular activities like attending staff meetings is also part of your job and won’t count.

Keeping Track of Your CE Credits for ARRT

You don’t need to track your CE credits yourself because that can be too much to handle. Just register for an ASRT account and they’ll take your credits and track them so you don’t have to. You’ll need to provide your name, birthday, and social security number to create an account.

What happens next? Well, when you complete a CE activity, make sure that you get a certificate for it. You should send the certificate to ASRT and they’ll send you an email within 7-10 days letting you know that they got the certificate and registered your credits. If you don’t get an email, call them to inquire about the certificate(s) you sent.

ASRT will transfer all your credits to ARRT automatically. The prerequisite here is that your social security number and birthday on both accounts need to match. If they do, this will happen automatically and you don’t need to worry about it. You need 24 credits every 2 years so make sure you know when each period starts and ends. Finding enough activities to give you the 24 credits you need won’t be difficult.
